Description

Balmoral Castle, seat of royal tradition in the Scottish Highlands, inspired our most regal design. Handwoven in the Outer Hebrides, the Harris Tweed carries that same legacy – a brown-grey herringbone base with blue & rust overcheck, textured with the hand of pure new wool.

We chose the Polo Coat for its stature & timeless versatility, but refined it with some Ulster details: a wide lapel, flattened gorge, & collar that stands tall against Highland winds, secured by a hidden throat latch in the front, or to wear down with a corozo button fastener on the rear.

Its double breasted 6x2 front, hand-sewn buttonholes, & corozo fasteners underscore craft, while the half-martingale belt, rear darts & vent shape a tailored silhouette. Turned-back cuffs, patch pockets & three interior compartments add utility. Lined in Japanese Bemberg, the Balmoral is regal, rugged & enduring.

Balmoral Polo Coat

There’s a certain authority in an overcoat — a quiet confidence that speaks before you do & we wanted to capture that while remaining functional.

The polo coat has always embodied that for me. Originally worn by English polo players between chukkas, it evolved into a symbol of effortless sophistication among Ivy Leaguers & London gentlemen.

When designing ours, I wanted to return to that heritage while drawing from the Highlands’ sense of permanence. We cut it in Harris Tweed herringbone plaid, woven by hand in Scotland for warmth & depth. The lapel was something we really spent a lot of time on; more of an Ulster-style — broad, sweeping, with a deeper gorge & a shallow dip along the back collar, allowing it to turn up naturally against the wind or fastened down with a button. The half martingale belt + side darts give shape without rigidity, while patch-&-flap pockets lend to the practicality we intended for blustery walks through the city (or simply from car to office). Named for Balmoral Castle, it’s a coat of lineage & purpose — steeped in tradition, reinterpreted with our take on quiet, albeit enduring refinement.
